Hello friends and family!  Jackie has chosen Caring Bridge as a way to keep everyone updated as she goes through the fight of her life.  

A quick summary:  After a routine mammogram in late August 2019, Jackie was diagnosed with breast cancer in one breast on September 24, 2019.  Genetic testing has revealed that there's a significant risk of the cancer returning and/or appearing in the other breast in the future.  Because of this, Jackie and her husband have made the difficult decision to perform a double mastectomy, removing both breasts and 100% eliminating these possibilities.  The surgery will be done on Monday, November 11.

I’m feeling more discomfort today than I have the rest of the week.  Not really pain, just a lot of soreness.  

We took a quick trip to Liberty Station and walked around the Public Market a bit. Just got home and I’m a bit tired and a bit nauseated.  

I think it’s time to rest some more.
