Thank you all for your amazing love, support, and prayers for Isaac and our family in this journey. We are using caringbridge to keep everyone updated in the most efficient way as we have been trying to respond to many many emails, texts and calls. We will work to provide updates as often and soon as possible. First and foremost, please pray with us, fervently, faithfully, relentlessly, begging God for Isaac's miracle. He is in CRITICAL condition and fighting for his life. Amazing doctors, surgeons nurses and medical teams are working tirelessly to save Isaac. Late on Friday night, June 23rd, Isaac was in a car accident where he went through the windshield of his car. He sustained multiple fractures,a collapsed lung, terrible road rash, and most significantly severe head trauma including a fractured skull and multiple brain bleeds. He was transferred to ICU at a hospital with a neurosurgical team who could address his head injuries.  Isaac was heavily sedated to allow the brain to 'rest' from his injuries, and put on a respirator as he could not breathe on his own. The head trauma causes swelling in the brain, which creates pressure. It is critical to bring the pressures down - especially to avoid swelling which pushes the brain into the spinal column and causes fatality. This process, cranial herniation, had already begun; however CAT scans reveal it has not progressed.  Please pray: swelling stops and begins to resolve, Isaac's body absorbs the blood from the brain injuries, he is able to regain respiratory function, and that, by God's grace and His miracle, brain damage is minimal. We love you. We love you for loving our boy. May God be glorified by Isaac's physical and spiritual recovery!

Day 335/Home day 155

Last day of therapies before surgery! Everyone is super excited. Recovery from the Ostomy Reversal will be 6-8 weeks. Isaac will not have any Physical Therapy during that time except walking. Because he loves the physical aspect of his therapies, I am hoping we can keep him encouraged during that time.

The therapy team, together with Isaac's PM&R Dr, has decided to showcase Isaac as a patient in their November meeting. We have been compiling pictures and videos of his recovery journey to accurately depict the intensity. The process of going through those images was emotional. Our desire is to change the existing practice of terminating life saving measures early in Traumatic Brain Injury patients. Fact: the brain needs more time to heal and recover! The medical community is doing a huge injustice by giving up on these people waaaay too early. Remember: Isaac did not move purposely for 21 days; Isaac 'woke up' on day 89! He was hospitalized for 6 months! What if we had listened to the Drs and nurses who were advising us to give up? There is HOPE!

Praying you all can take that hope into your hearts - knowing you have been a very important part; and apply that hope, both in your own life and as a gift to others. God is so good.

Be blessed💕
