Journal entry by Irene Gold

On March 5th, I finished a course of 8 chemotherapy treatments.  Three weeks ago I finished my 21 radiation treatments and I am done! After chemo, radiation was the last invasive treatment I will be getting. Who would have thought that the past 10 months of cancer diagnosis and treatment would go by so quickly. My hair is growing back very fast, but I will be having a short haircut for quite a while. I am loving it. No fuss, no muss!

I am incredibly grateful to so many people who have helped me on my journey.  Whether you brought me a meal, drove me to a doctors appointment, came over and fed the horse, listened to me complain or sent flowers or a  card, it all means so much.

My family has gone above and beyond; from my husband doing all the cooking and cleaning up, driving me to endless appointments, spending countless hours talking about options and making decisions.  Both my sisters have rallied around me and I am ever grateful to my older sister for finding and suggesting I drink the Taheebo tea that has made dealing with all of this much more tolerable.  My soon to be 96-year-old uncle checks up on me on a regular basis!

May the force be with you!
