Alex’s Story

Site created on February 7, 2022

With any luck, you'll experience three different voices - Alex, Mom, and Dad  - as we all navigate this journey in our own way, with our own perspectives and emotions.  We will endeavor to update weekly, or more frequently if activities dictate.

For those of you who were unable to attend, and those who did and wanted to see something again, the full video is above.  It's nearly 90 minutes long.  Here are some break points:

  • 0-1:24 - Introduction.  If you missed the section of the house dedicated to Alex's love story, or any of the decorations throughout the house, you can watch this portion.
  • 1:24 - 18:30 is his friends from School of Rock performing songs they played with Alex.
  • 18:30 - 23:29 is Carvin Jones' dedication.
  • 23:29 - 31:22 is our daughter's tribute to her brother.
  • 31:23 - 40:21 is Authority Zero's tribute to Alex.
  • 40:21 - 56:36 is family sharing memories of Alex.
  • 56:36 - 1:06:16 are the remaining memories from the audience, starting with his friends.
  • 1:06:16 - 1:20:19 is my eulogy for Alex.

I know many of you left during the 30 minutes of memories shared, and I highly encourage you to watch the eulogy and the accompanying video that begins at 1:20:19.

If you want a shorter version that provides snippets of everything, you can watch this shorter link.

We still don't have the photos from the event.  I'll post them all to the gallery when we have them, but this will be my last post.

Tonight, we went to the Musical Instrument Museum to watch Dave Pirner perform an acoustic set of the Soul Asylum songs.  It was a great night out, and something we probably would not have thought to do had Alex not made a connection with them.

There will be many other activities we will do because Alex created a connection for us.  We look forward to doing them.

Thank you for following Alex's journey.  I hope you found peace and inspiration.
