Journal entry by Kimberly Richards

I guess I am still dealing with the words I head on Feb 20, 2020. You have Chronic Myloid Leukemia. I had those words rattle through my head all day. Then it was time to get my Bone marrow Biopsy and aspiration done. I was was scared. I was of the unknown. They draped my back of my hip area as I lay down on my stomach. First he cleaned the area good then he began marking with his fingers where he needed to go in with the needle. Then he he got his Lidocaine ready that is the meds to help numb the out side of the bone.
While that was injected , I felt a small sting and it was over. Then came time to do what he came the for. The needle entered the bone and words left me, all I could do was cry and say it hurts. But as soon as it stopped so did the pain.. It was was a rough day for sure but now I have to tell my friends and family I have Cancer.
