Journal

Hey everyone,
Here is an update for the week. I’m going to try to cover everything. Holdens breathing up to 8 hours a day on his own with a little pressure support from the machine. He is at a 15/5 with his pressure support and he has to get to a 5/5 to breath all the way on his own. He is definitely making baby steps towards breathing on his own completely. Holden received one more unit of blood since the last time I journaled and has had normal red blood cell count ever since (yay)!!! His fevers are low grade and are believed to be a result of his pancreatitis, doctors believe he no longer has any infections in his body. Sadly Holden has been in a lot more pain lately and his doctor thinks that there is a cyst forming around his pancreas which is very painful and would explain his sudden pain over the past couple of days. The cyst isn’t anything to worry about it would just be forming to protect his other organs. We will know for sure if this is in fact a cyst on the 31st when they CT his pancreas again. The game plan is to have Holden into surgery around the 1st to get all the dead tissue drained from his pancreas and let him rest and comepletely heal another week or 2 and possibly get released from the hospital on February 10th. Until then the plan is for pain management and rest. I want to thank the wonderful doctors that have been involved and all his awesome nurses as well. I also of course want to thank all the family for all the love and support, we truly appreciate it and are so so so blessed to have such a great support system through all this. There is a huge light at the end of the tunnel and we’re almost there!!!
