Greetings! Henry had his 6 week post-op check-up with his cardiologist on Thursday. His unobstructed heart is a beautiful sight to behold. The doctor actually showed is the pre & post films from his echocardiogram.
What a miracle!
Henry still can’t drive until April 9, which is 8 weeks post-op. His sternum should be healed by then.
Then it’s back to work on April 10.
He should be starting cardiac rehab anytime now but that is whole other story...
Allegheny Health Network has HORRIBLE cardiac rehab facility availability, with zero in the city of Pittsburgh.
Allegheny General hospital, where they perform heart surgeries & procedures has none!
Three sites, all suburban, have rehab but only during the day and are held as classes.
How insane is that!!
Henry is fighting to be able to use the cardiac rehab facility at UPMC Shadyside, which is run like a gym with cardiac rehab specialists overseeing individualized care of patients.
He was denied on the first round. Now he’s appealing.
