Newest Update

Journal entry by Heather Rosen

On Friday we met with the Dr to discuss moms latest scan.
The tumors in her lungs grew by .2mm but there are no new ones. Great news!

Not great news there is an enlarged lymph node in her upper leg on the same as the orginal cancer. The Dr is assuming this has cancer. They will not remove it as she has already had lymph nodes removed from her leg and this will cause other issues if too many are removed, edema etc.

So she will be starting a chemo therapy. She will go in to MSK for treatement and then take chemo pills daily for 2 weeks. Then she has 7 days off and starts the cycle again, she will do 3 cycles and the reevaluate. There arw a few options if the treatments are working or she continues the cycle.

This chemo is less dosage then her original chemo therapy. Remember, sadly, this is not for curing this is for managing the disease.

At my prompting she will be starting her treatment after her birthday.

That's all there is now.
