We Still Believe in Miracles

“A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

We are sharing the journey God is leading us through. This journey started with a regular eye Doctor appointment (June 9th) and has moved quickly through many appointments. As many of you are aware, Traci has been diagnosed with a tumor in the left frontal lobe area of the brain. From what doctors observe through an MRI this is likely a benign meningioma. It is attached to the skull(brain lining) and is taking up space about the size of a clementine. Pray with us as God shows us his Grace and Mercy. Thank you for the prayers and verses and encouragement along the way.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Traci Tappe

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”  2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s a new year.  Many people are asking one another “What is one thing that happened in 2020 that you are thankful for?” It’s easy for me to answer.

I could say that I’m thankful I had a successful brain surgery. Because I am.
I’m thankful that the tumor was completely removed.
I’m very thankful that it was benign.
I’m thankful that my brain midline is straight again.
I’m thankful that my energy is restored.
I’m thankful for family & friends that stood by me along the way.
Yes, I am very very thankful for all of this.

But the most significant thing that I’m thankful for is my God who never left my side. Who had this journey all planned out and written as part of my story.  Who showed up in a powerful way that words could never describe when I cried out to Him alone.  Who has freed me from the tumor.  A spiritual tumor that slowly grew from believing lies from the enemy causing oppression of my thoughts and language, and I never knew.  But my God knew.  He saved me and changed me.  I am no longer who I was before.  He is doing the same for you.  Using every situation for your good as part of your story.  So when we look to the new year, we can look with anticipation as God continues to write our stories.

I’m signing off from this Caringbridge site. Thanks for following along in my journey.   I pray you saw God’s hand through it all.  A battle won even though I’m left with scars.  But, ya know? I’m thankful for the scars.  They will always remind me of His steadfast love.  He is so faithful and He will always be. Trust Him in whatever life brings.  Because He has it all planned out. He’s there. He is already there.  ❤️

Waking up to a new sunrise
Looking back from the other side
I can see now with open eyes

Darkest water and deepest pain
I wouldn't trade it for anything
Cause my brokenness brought me to You
And these wounds are a story You'll use

So I'm thankful for the scars
'Cause without them I wouldn't know Your heart
And I know they'll always tell of who You are
So forever I am thankful for the scars

Now I'm standing in confidence
With the strength of Your faithfulness
And I'm not who I was before
No, I don't have to fear anymore

So I'm thankful for the scars
'Cause without them I wouldn't know Your heart
And I know they'll always tell of who You are
So forever I am thankful for the scars

I can see, I can see
How You delivered me
In Your hands, In Your feet
I found my victory
I can see, I can see
How You delivered me
In Your hands, In Your feet
I found my victory

I'm thankful for Your scars
'Cause without them I wouldn't know Your heart
And with my life I'll tell of who You are
So forever I am thankful

I'm thankful for the scars
'Cause without them I wouldn't know Your heart
And I know they'll always tell of who You are
So forever I am thankful for the scars
So forever I am thankful for the scars
