Journal entry by Heidi Burns —
One year ago. One year cancer-free. I celebrated the day by doing all the things that make me me. I got up at 5am, started the laundry, did some yoga, hit the treadmill, raced to town (because my boys were gonna be late for school, like every other day;)), enjoyed some catch-up time at work, drove 30 miles to my youngest boys’ junior high basketball game, drove 30 miles back home to catch the last half of my oldest’s JV basketball game, treated myself to a donut for supper and now resting before bed. Today wasn’t extraordinary, just another ordinary day. But I love that I get to live every single day. So now every day is special. Thank you so much to all of you for helping take care of me and my family this past year. I am so blessed. 💕❤️
