Journal entry by Sean Quinlan —
Hello again,
Apologies as I have apparently been remiss in providing updates on Heather’s progress.
After her MRI in January where swelling had reduced and no change vs prior MRI, she was put on a quarterly cadence for future MRI checks. Well, the next quarterly check in was last Friday.
After 3 months of steady progression of “getting back to normal”, which included driving again in February, being a busy mom, hosting book club, etc., we thought this scan would show nothing but positive news.
However, this scan showed there was more swelling in the brain vs the previous scan, which isn’t great news but also one that the neurosurgeon wasn’t particularly worried about yet. Apparently it isn’t uncommon to have delayed swelling post craniotomy, and the swelling is within “normal” range.
So apparently we aren’t out of the woods quite yet, despite the outwardly appearances continuing to improve.
We appreciate all the continued prayers and support! Wishing you all a Blessed Easter!
I will continue to update with the latest info.
