Heather’s Story

Site created on August 12, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Heather was born with Turner's Syndrome. She had her first heart surgery at 26 months. This was called COARCTATION OF THE AORTA, which is a narrow of the aorta. This surgery was very successful. We have always known (but hoped it wouldn't happen) that Heather would need another surgery. Today, August 13, Heather will undergo OPEN HEART SURGERY to repair her aorta and bicuspid valve. Also, Heather will have a heart anomaly repaired too, she has blood vessels going the wrong direction and putting more blood into the heart than what she need. This we never knew until now. Today will be very long, but will try to keep all visitors updated. We just ask for prayers for her. Thanks for visiting.

Here it is already mid September!

Heather is doing good. INR blood work is responding to the medication. She has had 2 echocardiograms, 2 Fridays in row, checking on the fluid around her heart. Doctor says its normal but need to watch and make sure it disappears. Heather starts Cardiac Rehab Monday and will be returning to her apartment in Windom. THANK YOU ALL for the prayers and support during this time.
