Heather’s Story

Site created on April 8, 2018

Heather was diagnosed with  with brain cancer (Antaplastic pilocitic astrocytoma) stage 3 in September of 2016. She has had an extensive battle enduring two surgeries, 6.5 weeks of radiation and chemo and completed an additional year of chemo one week out of each month. The Lord has certainly seen her through some of the hardest times in her life and Heather's mantra as she's walked through this journey has been "God's got this." He's certainly not finished with her yet and we are blessed to continue to do life alongside her each and every day.

Any of you who know Heather know she has had quite a journey. From loosing her sister to brain cancer, finding out her own diagnosis with the same illness, to enduring surgery and treatments like chemo and radiation, to recently loosing her insurance coverage and job subsequently to the effects of cancer and it's treatment it has been a battle. But, Praise God! Heather's most recent scans looked good! Unfortunately, even with a good report, the effects and follow-ups remain. We believe in a Heavenly Father that is able to do immeasurably more than we can imagine. Here is an opportunity for us to be the hands and feet of Jesus. As a community we have the opportunity to pull together to help Heather manage the medical expense that will be piling up as she continues to follow up with frequent appointments, scans and check-ups.
