Kaylee’s Story

Site created on November 29, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

If you have found this page, then you more than likely have had the opportunity to meet Kaylee or Glenn Frost. Kaylee and Glenn are two of the nicest, hard working people that I know.

On August 22, 2021, Kaylee was admitted to the hospital for covid-19 symptoms. At this time, Kaylee was 28 weeks pregnant. Five days later, Kaylee delivered sweet baby Harlan Gray. Kaylee was immediately placed under heavy sedation for five weeks to allow her lungs to rest from the damage that covid had done to her body. Over time, doctors continued to monitor her progress. However, her lung function has not improved. Doctors have expressed that Kaylee will require a double lung transplant, as this is the only option to a full recovery. Kaylee's lungs cannot heal. Kaylee has been transferred to the University of Kentucky Hospital where she will work intensively to become strong enough for her lung transplant. Her husband Glenn balances his time between the hospital and his newborn. Harlan is home, healthy and thriving.

We have created a fundraiser to assist the family in any financial need that they may encounter during Kaylee's hospital stay while awaiting for, and recovering from her transplant.

Please add Kaylee to your prayer list!

If you prefer to donate locally, there is an account set up at United Citizens Bank in Columbia KY called ‘Frost Fund.’

Newest Update

Journal entry by Heather Dudley

I am so very saddened to share this news.  This is an update from Kaylee’s husband Glenn from today.
‘I first want to say thank you to everyone who has had Kaylee Frost and I in your thoughts, prayers, and support these last four months. She has fought a hard fight and we are so proud of her. It is with a heavy heart that I say Kaylee passed away this morning from overwhelming infection. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we go through this difficult time. Thank you so much!’
