Hayden finally got to see his favorite GI doctor in person today.  Dr. Balistreri!   It was the first time since before the transplant.  He was super excited to see him.  He gave us the pic of Hayden’s old liver.  Just wow! It is just amazing to know that he has a fresh new liver now.  What a difference. So so thankful.  Doc was so pleased at how things are going. He has given his blessing for us to go home on Friday.  We will have a six week break before we have to come back for next check up.  We are able to continue the weekly labs back home so they can continue to monitor him.
It has really been an adventure and journey the last few months.  We have enjoyed our time in Cincy but we are ready to go back home.  God has been so good and seen us through every step of the way.  I give Him all the glory.
I want to thank each one also for all the prayers,  support and love you have given our family. There is power in prayer and we have seen it first hand.  So many people donated money to help us with the living expenses in Cincinnati. I thank each one of you.  People we didn’t even know donated.  It was very humbling to know so many people care.   It helped out family immensely.  So many cards and care packages were sent as well. It all brought a smile to Hayden’s face and helped cheer him up.  On behalf of my family we thank you all for your generosity and love.  I hope God will bless each one in a special way.

Show your love and support for Hayden.

We got out this afternoon for some PT walking at the Zoo.  Beautiful afternoon. They had a Roo walk about exhibit. We also got a peek at Fiona the hippo. She was sun bathing in the sun.  Hayden really enjoyed getting out.

We had about an inch of snow this am.  Most of the snow today turned to ice.  Another snow storm is due later in the week. I was able to get Hayden out at 8 am for his bloodwork.  Doc was pleased at his progress.  Labs looked good.  Due to the bad weather for the next week or so we have decided to extend our stay until March 5th.  We will do Telehealth this week and next. Dr Balistreri wants to see Hayden in person before we head home.
On a side note, someone stole my shovel off our little deck this evening while I was sitting here watching tv.  Right in front of my window!  I did throw my boots on and ran out the door to track them down but they were too fast for me! I was a bit mad (well a lot mad! ) but Hayden reminded me that they may have needed it more than us.  Really?? I will pray they just wanted to borrow it and may bring it back tomorrow.  We will see.  Ugh! I am not used to the city life.  So I guess I will just pray for them.  The bad thing is I can’t just go buy another one.   All the shovels and salt have been sold out all over town for days now!  Oh well.  We will figure it out.  I still have my broom!

We have had a good week so far.  Lots of snow in Cincy! After PT today he decided Snow angels in shorts would be fun! We got 5 inches of snow on Monday and then this afternoon it started up again.  So far another 3 inches.  Good reports from docs.  If his blood work keeps looking good the plan is to go home on the 19th! God continues to carry us and I give him all the praise for all he has done for us. So thankful for all our blessings.  Thank you all for your prayers and continued support of love.

We have had a great week. Hayden continues to improve and feel good. His incision his healing up nicely. Docs are very pleased. Labs are still trending in the right direction as well.
Last weekend his buddy David Dudley happened to be near Cincy so he stopped in to surprise Hayden.  He really lifted his spirits.  We have had a few snow days but it has not been any issues since we are just 5 minutes from hospital.  God continues to meet all our needs.  We have so blessings to be thankful for! Thank you all for the continued prayers for Hayden! We are thankful for all the support and love shown to us.

Hayden continues to feel good. We finally had a little January Christmas in Cincinnati. We enjoyed a great long weekend with Haley. This am it is snowing like crazy!  Haley and Gene just both left to go back to Virginia.  They are driving separately.  Praying for safe travels for them!

They released Hayden from the hospital this afternoon.  The biopsy came back and no rejection so far. Praise the Lord for that!  🙌  He had some inflammation but none that indicated liver rejection.  We have clinic apt tomorrow so we will wait to see what the doc will suggest.  I have learned to take one day at a time.  Hayden continues to feel good. He is a little sore from biopsy but overall pretty good.  God is still in control and we give it all to Him! Since Hayden and I are both covid free finally Haley is going to come up for a short visit.  Praying for safe travels for her.  It’s been almost 5 weeks since we have seen her! It will be nice to have us all together for a bit! Thank you all for your continued love, support and prayers! ❤️🙏❤️

Hayden’s liver numbers are still at a stand still.  Docs have decided to move forward with another biopsy tomorrow at 9am.  It takes 24 hours to get the results.  If it is liver rejection they will have to keep him in the hospital 5-7 days until they can readjust his meds.  I continue to give it all to God.  He is still carrying us.  Hayden is in good spirits and seems to be ok with everything. He says he is feeling fine and we are so grateful for that.   I just continue to pray that all will work out.  I know we are still in His hands! Thank you Jesus! ❤️🙏❤️
