Hattie’s Story

Site created on October 13, 2020

Hattie’s journey began Saturday evening October 10th 2020 as she was tracking a deer she had shot with her compound bow and wounded it . While Josh , Levi and Hattie were tracking it a tree fell on her . Josh and Levi were amazing to stay calm get radios and call for help ,as help arrive Josh never left her side . It took about 5 hours and a ton of rescue service personnel to get up the slick mountain with supplies and equipment and get her down .Then she was transported to greenbrier valley hospital, because of weather conditions she could not be flown and had to be driven to Roanoke Memorial where now her long journey begins. Head trauma, back and spinal injury, and compound fracture to her leg . So many prayers coming in and needed . Thanks everyone!!❤️Due to Covid only one person a day can be in the hospital with with her which seems so unfair . On November 9th 2020 her rehab journey begins in Atlanta Georgia at the Shepherd Center with Covid restrictions in place there it will just be me allowed staying there with her also .
