Hi Harry, we have met a few times, once while riding to Villa Grove. I just finished RTR and I was surprised at how many people, when they would discover that I was from Salida, would ask about you. I have thought about that chance meeting on the way to Villa Grove many times. I hope to see you again one day.

Linda and I visited Harry and Myra in their cool new digs in Eugene March 1st and 2nd. For a guy who says he can't taste food he sure had no trouble polishing off a large breakfast, lunch and dinner and a bowl of ice cream at a local ice cream shoppe. Rest assured the accident hasn't changed Harry's political views. Still liberal with a dose of cynicism thrown in. Unfortunately his sense of humor is completely intact and better (or worse) than ever.
Five months ago Harry was breathing on a ventilator. Last week Harry and I sat in a park in Eugene and inhaled the pine scented air.. Never have I enjoyed a spring morning more. Here's to hoisting a beer and howling at the moon this summer.
A number of years ago I stayed with Harry and Myra, whle on a bike trip through Salida. I remember he so graciously welcomed me as I heard that his hospatality was legandary on a few posts I read. I immediatly felt comfortable with him as he took some time to show me the town, radio station where he works, local eateries and in short just spending time with me and making my time in Salida so memorable. In the time I was there, we went for numerous bike rides together. Even though I am a few years his junior he litterly smoked me as we cycled from Texas City to Wescliffe. He is true cyclist! I have so many times thought back on those pleasent times with Harry and his wife and will always fondly treasure his kindness.

Hey HB. How are tricks? It’s been awhile since I was here. Sorry about that. Work and Lake Effect Snows have been keeping me busy. That and my Birthday!!!! We’ll celebrate both when I see you.
So how are you doing ? What steps are you taking? Remember we are breaking out by the end of the month and today is the 22nd of January 2019. That means in 9 days we are out of there.
I know it is easy the settle , to get comfortable, to say oh well. That’s BS big time. I do know this, you kicked my ass for thousands and thousands of miles. There was no settling, there was no oh well. There was only get over this stinking hill and we will talk.
So I am saying loud and clear get over this hill. Get out of Eugene. Get out of that place. Salida is calling.... No Salida is demanding that you and Myra come home. Eugene is a great place to visit. But NOW IS THE TIME TO COME HOME.
Climb this hill. Climb this challenge. There is NOTHING stopping you.

I know this is not my normal touchy feely note. The time is now. I want my Harry Back. I want my Myra back. It’s 2019 let take care of business now. Let’s set a new course. Let’s get onto a different f-ing hill.
