Harry’s Story

Site created on June 21, 2018

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.

I am truly sorry if this comes as a shock to anyone and I wish I could think of a better way to spread the word.  Harry passed away peacefully sometime Tuesday morning.  He had been suffering for many years with COPD and about 3 months ago an abdominal aortic aneurysm was discovered and he started hospice care.  We all knew it wouldn't be long and did our best to keep him happy and as comfortable as we knew how.  He's had many visitors over the past few months and he was so happy to see each one of you or to speak with you over the phone.

We all know Harry is in a better place; I like to imagine him happy, continuing to play gentle tricks, and showing off his Pride and Joy cards.  He had a profound impact on everyone he met.  I'd like to ask everyone to honor him by posting their favorite Harry Story here.  Surely everyone here remembers the Magical Indian Hazelnuts.

My love to all of you,
Jane, Brett & Trey Belcastro

Journal entry by Jane Belcastro

The memorial service for Harry will be at the senior home he was living in, Thursday morning at 11am.  They have a nice chapel with plenty of room and the residents who've lived with Harry will also have a chance to say goodbye to their friend and neighbor.

The address is:
519 Perkins Rd
Palmetto, GA 30268

We hope everyone can make it but we realize that the short notice may make it difficult for some people to attend.  We will be taking video of the service and will post it to Harry's Facebook page.  There will be an attempt to do a live stream, so if you can't make it, you can watch live on Thursday at 11am.

Thank you,

Jane Belcastro
