Everyone is quite cool when they start speaking about pimples appearing on the face. But, when strange bumps are observed just below the belt, people might have a horrible experience and may not even dare to talk about it. The skin condition may become even worse if the individual starts wearing tight jeans or underwear. The probable cause of such a painful condition might be due to ingrown hair.

According to a dermatologist, a red inflamed bump may arise because the hair curls inwards into the skin. Moving ahead, the trapped hair can lead to bacterial infection of the hair follicles. Moisture friction and bacteria can further enhance the infection and eventually swell into a boil.

In case you try removing the hair with the help of a razor, then there are greater chances of getting razor bumps. But, if there isn't any way out, then it's better to use a razor with the clean blade and make sure that the blade is not exposed to air for a longer time. So, you should go through this blog to know more about home remedies for painful razor bumps. These natural ways are extremely effective especially when you don't have the time to visit the doctor.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is supposed to be an antibacterial agent that always helps to get rid of bikini bumps. Once you dab the area with pure tea tree oil, you can instantly be relieved from the irritating sensation and the pain. Rather than applying the tea tree oil directly, it's better to use a cotton swab soaked in the oil. For better results, you could also use coconut oil or almond oil sometime later.

Baking Soda

Baking soda is a substance which is easily available in the market. Since it is quite mild, the substance could be used for treating bikini bumps on sensitive skin. But, before you apply the powder, you should wash your hands thoroughly with a skin-friendly soap. As soon as you apply a little bit of the substance, you shouldn't forget to wash the area with water. In order to moisturize the skin, using coconut oil could be the best option.

Strawberries

If you want to get rid of the swollen bumps, then you could apply a paste prepared from a bunch of strawberries. To form the thick paste, you need to mash the juicy fruits along with sour cream. As you spread the paste on the affected area, you should wash it only after the time lapse of 20 minutes. It's advisable to use cold water instead of lukewarm water which may aggravate the irritating sensation.

Coconut Oil

Known to be a lubricant while people are shaving off the beard, coconut oil works wonders to get rid of ingrown hair. Owing to the presence of lauric acid, the oil helps in healing the skin at a faster rate. You simply have to apply a thin layer of the oil over the affected area. In case it is required to do so, then you should treat bikini bumps after a couple of intervals.

Lemon Juice

Even though lemon juice may worsen the condition, it can surely help to get rid of ingrown hair infection. Since it is acidic in nature, it curbs the growth of bacteria and promotes skin growth. If you are suffering from razor bumps infection, then you should surely go through a list of home remedies.

Calendula Oil

The oil extracted from calendula flowers has the potential to soothe the skin in a much better way. Apart from offering instant relief, the oil reduces the burning sensation and the infection due to the reddish area. So, before you think of applying the oil, you should dilute 6 drops of calendula oil with coconut oil, jojoba or almond oil. This would certainly help as the irritation gradually gets reduced.
