Hanna, reading your mom's most recent post I realized how lucky (bear with me, I know your year's been rough) you are to be exposed to all these different medical professionals. I'm pretty sure, ok if I'm honest I'm 100% sure, I didn't have the faintest clue what an occupational therapist did until I was 31 and had to see one. You're only in high school and you get to meet all these people who are tasked to help you heal. I can't help but think this is positively shaping who you become. Think about it. You've had your favorite nurses, doctors and therapists. How they interact with you has probably inspired you in some way. Maybe now you're thinking about a career where you could help people because you knew how much it meant to have that favorite person help you. You might be thinking, "if I could give just an ounce of that kindness to someone else who doesn't think things get better, that's a win."

Maybe you don't want to go into the helping professions but you want to write. You're going to be an amazing writer because you understand the depth of emotions humans feel when faced with tragedy. You'll be able write about characters or report on news events and capture people's broad emotional range because chickadee, you've felt every emotion there is.

Maybe you'll be an activist because you see how unfair the world is since this accident and how tricky it can be to navigate and you want it to be easier for others because aren't we all here to make the world a better place?

What I know is the world's your oyster and you've got a head start on your peers. Better invest in a good pair of sunglasses because your future is so bright you need shades.

Dear Dr. Kittrell and precious family, there is so on your plates. Reality can seem so overwhelming. All these things will make each of you stronger. But that doesn’t lessen the sucky ness of it all. Unfortunately, dear Hanna, you are the only one who can adapt. You will find the path of least resistance for you. We believe in you.
I’m so proud of you all. The magic of family love will empower each of you. New routines will become old habits before long. Your faith will see you through. Our prayers continue for you all. God bless you all.
(Dr. Kittrell, I had my MRI last Wednesday. Next week will probably be talk of when my surgery will be. Thank you for taking time for all your Veterans. God bless.)
Your Old Veteran Buddy,
Randy

Your gift of writing is such a blessing to all of us . We all wish there was something we could do to lighten the burden. But ultimately we know it is a personal journey you are on. It is our prayer that you can feel our faithful God walking with you. We love you. Aunt Pat

Robyn you are such a gifted writer! I suspect there may be a book in all these Caring Bridge entries. It sounds like everyday life is still difficult & so full of challenges, but you have all come so far from that Fateful Day in January. Keep the faith, & much love & prayers from me.❤️🙏
