Hal’s Story

Site created on December 29, 2018

On Christmas Eve Hal was admitted into Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. Blood work revealed acute leukemia. On Christmas Day Hal learned that he will require chemo and eventually a bone marrow transplant.

Sue and Hal would like to use this CaringBridge website to keep family and friends updated in one place. They appreciate all of your prayers, support, words of hope and encouragement. Sue shared with me, "We are feeling the love and prayers from everywhere! It has been amazing so far how many blessings we have had, we feel angels are walking with us and protecting us."

During this season of Christmas please keep the joy of loving God, loving Jesus in your heart, and share that joy with all you meet! God has Hal in the palm of his hand! Share love, kindness and the gift of hope with each other!

From my Family and I,  we would just like to say Thank you. Hal's celebration of life was a tribute to his friendships, family and his life. There were many that came and shared in Hal's celebration. To look on the ice and see people that were skating throughout the evening was, heart warming. I personally was so emotional, that so many offered help, that came and shared that the Big Dipper was where many  of you had first met Hal. Our Family is grateful to our community and friends from Michigan and beyond, this year was a difficult time. It was filled with many ups and downs. Hal was able to make it home and that was his goal.
I want to share that we had six months, where there was no pull from the business, or the running we both did that home demanded, while we spent time in Seattle. Six months, we were able to spend time together because our community, family and friends came together to support us, What a gift you gave me personnaly. We were able to share in day to day conversations, Walk, and just spend time together reconnecting. Hal finally understood how much groceries cost, because we went to the grocery store to purchase dinner items together. We had never been able to do that at home. We had been too busy.
If there is anything to share, it is to appreciate the loved one you have. take time to savor a moment in time each day. Kindness, is a gift. cherish those that care.
Thank you, From our hearts for sharing in Hal's life,
  Susan
