Hailey Holder’s Story

Site created on May 22, 2019

Today, after a couple of weeks of tests and tons of needle pokes, our girl had a large tumor removed from her left thigh. The tumor has been deemed a sarcoma from preliminary pathology reports. Over the next few weeks, we will learn the specific type of cancer that Hailey Holder has and from there we will learn what our treatment options will be. The pediatric oncologist believes that she has infantile Fibrosarcoma which is extremely rare. We are hopeful that the prognosis will be good. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as our journey is only going to get harder.

H2 UPDATE!

Hailey Holder is done with week THREE of chemo! She was extra sleepy this week but her counts have remained good! We took the weekend to join the family in St. Simons for a little R&R before we start this week of chemo. Hailey Holder spent a lot of time in the room with Nana and Kimbo. The beach and the pool are off limits during chemo due to the excessive amount of bacteria present. It’s disappointing that we haven’t been able to enjoy a proper summer with our girl but we are making the most of it! She did get out to eat at some of our favorite restaurants on the island. We love experiencing old things with her fresh perspective.

This week, we have chemo every day and a scan scheduled. Prayers that the scan comes back showing cancer regression. We have a long week ahead of us but we are looking forward to getting this week over with! Thank you to everyone who is continued to support us.
