Mario’s Story

Welcome dear family, friends, church family and co-workers alike to our CaringBridge website. We are using a centralized platform to keep all our loved ones up to date with Mario's health journey. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement as we navigate through his progress. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for visiting and checking in.

As many of you are already aware, Mario and Monica made their transition from California to Texas almost 4 years ago. Each year since then, Mario has visited his doctor due to bad allergies mostly attributed to the higher pollen content and differing seasonal changes experienced in Texas. Each visit included a steroid shot along with a round of antibiotics to ease his symptoms. This year however, his symptoms seemed to take a turn for the worse and forced Mario to have to visit his doctor 3 times. Each visit offering a routine steroid shot coupled with an antibiotic but nothing seemed to alleviate his discomfort. Within the past month, Mario had started experiencing severe migraines, numbness in his feet and hiccups that were long lasting and extremely uncomfortable. He had also been battling severe bouts of depression that seemed to change his behavioral patterns and affect his memory. This is when Mario decided he needed to find answers and go in for further testing. The following journal entries present a timeline of his progress as we navigate through his health journey together.

Hi guys!

We just wanted to pop in for a quick update. Mario is completely off of his steroids and is now falling asleep at night. Which had become a real challenge for him since being admitted into the hospital. He's been making great stride and is now moving around the house with a lot less pain. His post-op follow-up appointment is currently scheduled for June 5th.
