After 53 days in the NICU, our little guy is home!!
The last few weeks have been a whirlwind. After a slow start with bottle feeding, all of a sudden Griff started crushing his bottles! Once this happened, everything started moving fast with the discharge process. What we thought would be another few weeks turned into one day!! Although we were overjoyed with this news, we’d be lying if we said some panic didn’t set in. We called in all of our resources and cashed in all of our favor cards in order to get our house ready for Griff to come home. Our parents and friends went above and beyond— running errands, painting our walls, dropping off food, coffee, and countless other little things. We are in awe of our people and how they so selflessly loved us in this season.
Life with Griffin at home is so surreal. The fact that we can change his diaper, cuddle him, feed him, bathe him and love on him is a enormous gift from God. Although this has been one of the hardest, most challenging season of our lives, we are just so thankful. Thankful for the wonderful doctors, nurses and therapists at the St David’s NICU who became like family to us and loved and cared for our boy so well, for our family and friends, and for all of you who never stopped praying.
Today Griff had his first pediatrician appointment. He is 5 pounds, 3 ounces and 18 inches long. Doc says he’s a healthy, happy little boy. We are praising the Lord for He is good and has answered our prayers! 🙌🏻
Love,
S + T + G
