Journal entry by Ronna Berger —
Hi All,
It's Greg
As Ronna said, we had the staples removed from my neck today...over 50 of them....we also received great news regarding the pathology report. They had removed 69 lymph nodes from the neck, ALL of them tested negative.....the cancer had not spread. However they had to take out a larger portion of the tongue due the size of the tumor and the margin to get it all. It was originally thought to be a T2 in size but actually ended up a size T3. Because of the size of the tumor they are recommending Radiation, which will begin approximately 6 weeks after the surgery and last for 6 weeks, 5 days per week. While not thrilled about the radiation it will help ensure the cancer does not return. Thank you all again for your support.
