Greg and I were very close friends in junior high school. Not being a social media user, I was not aware of the details of Greg's life except that he's a beloved high school teacher in Iowa. This morning, in seeing recent news about an Iowa high school, I searched for Greg to see what he's up to, and found your CareBridge site.
I'm devasted to hear about Greg's accident and saddened to know that your lives have been dealt such a profound setback. In spending a short amount of time on this site, my sadness is assuaged in part by the huge outpouring of family and community support for Greg. I'm not surprised at all. You're one-of-a kind Greg!
Having spent so much time with Greg during such formative years as junior high school, I can say that the memories of our friendship are among my fondest of that time and I, and a lot of other friends, were bummed when Lagey was off to the Hill ("Hell") school. But we knew hockey was a big part of it, so we were happy for him.
Realizing there's a character limit here. Apologies for the ramble.
Greg- I miss you buddy, and I'm optimistic and joyful about your future. I'd love to connect with you about skating around Hillside, Ian, New Years Eve ('86?), skate-punk tunes and all of it. Perhaps your family has access to the email I used to log into this site.
I think about Mr. Lage often. Great high school memories at Colfax. Ribbing him about his hideous Nissan Stanza 4x4 hatchback which was secretly very cool. I remember a lesson or two about Biden and his foreign policy as a senator. I'd give anything to talk to him about the presidency. And life. Music. Sports. Love. Etc. Much love to the whole family.
I have been praying for Greg and your family every morning. I'll be with you in spirit tomorrow. I'm hosting a meet and greet for my son Elliott here in Osage. He's running for re-election to Minneapolis City Council. This is Mom doing fundraising with her friends for his campaign.
Hello Lage family!! My prayers and thoughts are with you all!! I will forever celebrate your day as the 21st is Chris’s birthday! Love and hugs to you all! I can only imagine how difficult your journey is, but I will continue to hold you up in prayer! I’m incredibly amazed at your strength!!! I’m also amazed at the love and support you have had and continue to receive by so many people who love you all! Look forward to seeing you all one day soon! Much love and hugs, Jennifer
