Grant’s Story

Site created on February 27, 2021

Our son and friend, Grant Biggers, passed away Wednesday morning, February 24, 2021. We are grateful he was home with us. He had returned home before Thanksgiving to join us on a roadtrip to Sedona, Grand Canyon, Zion and Bryce Canyon.  He found a job with a tree company, which he enjoyed, and was saving up money so he could join his friends in Washington. He was hoping to travel to Alaska, which was top of his bucket list! He lived a full life of travel, exploring places I have never been, and building a community of like people - his true tribe. He had a compassionate heart and a curious nature. His presence on this earth will be missed, but we hope he finds peace. That will most likely be in the form of a mountain goat on top of a mountain.

We take comfort in fond memories of this remarkable young man. Please post any remembrance and/or photos (post pictures in Thoughts and Well Wishes). We have put many pictures of his life in the Gallery section.

If you are so inclined,  in lieu of flowers, a donation in his memory to Oxfam or Doctors without Borders is preferred.

The Bay Area Ridge to Bridge ride is something that Bill and Ross have enjoyed doing together over the years. Then the Pandemic happened and this event had been put on hold for the past few years. As the season approached, the ride was back on (although modified from prior years) and Bill saw the date and the mileage and the idea came to ride in memory of Grant, who loved to be on the trails. It was the week Grant would have turned 25... a 25 mile ride and the 25th year of the RTB fundraiser. PERFECT! We put the word out and our community rallied around us once again!! Raising $3,100 put us on the organization's radar and asked if they could write about the motivation.  Here is the article: https://ridgetrail.org/honoring-a-life-out-on-the-trail/

Thank you all, again, for supporting us and keeping Grant's memory and passions alive.
