We are uniquely prepared by Christ to be "distinctively non-panicked people" (what I've said to many, personally). I love your echoing of the same, and may well refer to your historical recounting this Sunday, Jon! We love and pray for you continually, and like you, know that our hope does not lie where the world's hope lies; it lies in Jesus Christ above all else! As always, whether from near or far, we are your partners not only in ministry, but in faith and life!
Thanks for the Cyprian plague illustration. We could give a contemporary example of Christian doctors and nurses and missionaries in the recent Ebola crisis who risked and lost their lives helping thousands in west Africa. In the case of Ebola, it wasn’t a 1-3% mortality rate; it was a 90% mortality rate for those who contracted it.
I understand the fear for Grace. My immune system and respiratory system are compromised. But God is enough. And he loves us more than we love ourselves. We will be prudent, but we will live, and minister, and trust him for all our tomorrows.
I will be in special prayer partnership for Grace in connection with the virus, you can be sure. ❤️
Thank you for those encouraging words to continue living by in this time of fear of unknowing. Even though I don't want to cause any harm to anyone during this pandemic, I also do not want to stay away from my loved ones who may need me most. Specifically, my elderly mom in law, who counts on me. I have been trying to keep her stocked with necessities where she lives in a senior living facility, but keep finding more things I need to do. I am well, I will fight to continue to help her, even if they try to keep me out. I will also continue to pray for Gracie and all persons fighting battles during this time.
May God open the way for Grace to have treatment tomorrow!
