Your posts are very inspiring - this one in particular to me because I thought of my nephew Jerrett; Jerrett was abused at a day-care center when he was 8 mos old - he's 37 now. As a result, he's legally blind, he can't walk, he has the use of one arm and he has the mind of a seven-year-old. It was heartbreaking because it was my sister-in-law's 1st child. Jerrett was violently shaken. I was so angry at God, I didn't want to walk with him anymore. During my three weeks of anger, he spoke to me throughout that time and one of the things he said to me was just what you said, we live in a fallen world and sometimes these things happen to the innocent. And it didn't end in death. But what I Ioved about your post was the passage John 11:4 and also what you said, God will be glorified in the end. No matter what. And it is all about Jesus. I think God is already being glorified in Jerrett. The doctors said he would either be a vegetable or severely retarded. Jerrett is neither. He talks , argues, calls on the phone, I got him an Echo Dot and he calls me several times a day. He even has learned on his own how to manipulate it and create music playlists.
So thank you for the nice reminder/incite and encouragement. What a powerful impact it had on me. We respond to your posts to let you know we're praying for you all, encouraging you to stay strong, etc, and here you so inspired me and gave me a renewed hope for my nephew and a deeper incite to God's Word. Thank you and God bless you. I'm still praying for you all, knowing God will be glorified in her trials. He is faithful and true to His Word.

Powerful devotion! Remember the word to Your servant, Upon which You have caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life.

I read those same verses this morning and thought about the difference between someone dying and someone's life ending in death. There is a stark contrast between the two that is frequently overlooked. I actually soaped on John 12:51, "He did not say this on his own; as high priest at the time he was led to prophecy that Jesus would die for the entire nation." - It was comforting to me to realize that through the brokenness and unbelief of people, God will still use them for His glorification. God can use anything for his glory, even cancer in a precious four year old child. We see tragedy and heartache, God sees opportunity and love. God bless you and Katie. Always praying for you guys and Gracie.

What a reminder of God’s higher purpose. He has brought Grace this far. He will be with her through the valley to come. Our prayers will be with her too.

I was impressed with the very same thing this morning! Why would Jesus know Lazarus had died and not go IMMEDIATELY to him...his family? Because there was something GREATER...MUCH GREATER going on. His ways and timings are perfect, though frequently not understood by us. There is something GREATER going on with the Wiest family, too...to His glory!

Yes, always hang on to God's soothing and inspiring words. These will ALWAYS carry you through, when people around you say the wrong things or just don't understand or quite get it.💖💖🤗🤗🙏🙏
