Christine’s Story

Site created on October 11, 2021

My family and I are blessed to have a tribe, well several tribes of people who love and care for us. We never wanted to create a site like this  - but none the less here we are. We were in need of a place where we can provide updates when people have time to access it on my treatment and my health and this site does just that. Do not feel as though you need to create a login or donate, neither is needed in order to see the journals.

Thanks for all the love and support- really it means so much!

Newest Update

Journal entry by Christine Jouannet

I am good - I am stable no changes and I have a new routine MRI scheduled in a few weeks.  HOWEVER my family needs some help and I know this tribe is amazing at putting out tons of support and love so here I am asking for help again.

Mom (Grammy) is in the hospital and today is the day we really need her to give us signs on whether she wants to fight or to let go.

Earlier this week mom was taken to hospital as she was gasping for air - she coded in ambulance. They were able to bring her back by shocking her.  They then sedated and vented her. She has been off sedation but with one kidney her body is working overtime to heal as well as to process sedation out and it is a slower process for her.  She has not woken up, CT brain scan was inconclusive,  they can't do MRI due to ventilation, & the docs are concerned she is not progressing.

The week has been a roller coaster as from the phone call we got we were doing our best to prepate for the worst and she would be gone before we made the drive from NC.  Then she was there and there were small signs of hope, then it looked grim, then were told to give it more time as kidney was causing the slow process, then more time passed and little to no progress.

She is being surronded with family - Paul and I are here, her 2 daughter in laws, some of her grandkids and Bob and more grandkids headed this way soon.

I am sitting here now with her, playing her some John Denver, Neil Diamond, Abba, Hawiian music and Anne Murray to keep her entertained.

Please think of us today as we hope mom gives us an indication what the path will be for her.  If this was just her ploy to get us all here together, well done Sheila it worked. If she is tired, and ready to rest and go see dad, and her brothers, that is ok too. We just would like her to guide us on next steps.

Thank you as always for all your support and love
