Glen’s Story

Site created on October 10, 2021

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On Tuesday October 5, 2021 Glen was diagnosed with cancer in his colon, liver and right lung. This diagnosis came after scans, blood work, ultra sounds and a colonoscopy. Although the news was shocking, Glen is very optimistic and knows God has plans for him.

On Tuesday October 12, 2021 Glen will have a softball sized tumor removed from his colon. During the procedure the surgeon will take out his ascending colon which is where the main cancerous tumor is. This procedure is necessary to prevent the tumor from growing and fully blocking his colon, and will cut out the source of his cancer. During the surgery an oncologist will be there observing to get a better idea of just what Glen's cancer is looking like. This way Glen can choose the best plan of action going forward. The recovery time will vary between 10-20 days. Glen is very strong and we feel the recovery time will be shorter.
