Glenn’s Story

Site created on April 11, 2019

On Jan. 29th in a split second, lives changed, a battle began and hope w/ faith became two of the most important things we would embrace.  After spending more than a month at Emory hospital in Decatur, Ga,  Glenn is at Sheppard Rehab Center continuing to recover from a brain injury.  His rehab has been wonderful yet strenuous.  He consistently works hard to strengthen his mind and body.  Glenn is a fighter and he proves this through his spirit to never give up.    We have watched and prayed as Glenn has fought his way out of a coma and woke up with a divine that is nothing short of remarkable.   Blessings has surrounded Glenn and our family as we all battle with understanding the hectic new normal and changes in routine without mercy.  Please continue to surround him with prayers while he faces this recovery marathon.  With God’s help we are expecting and hopeful for a full recovery.

Journal entry by Nichole Patin

Life has been SUPER busy.  So busy, I've been writing this post for over a week 🙄 ... Anyway
He's home!! 😊🤗
Glenn has been home since August 14th.  The kids and I are super glad to have him home, and he seems content being here.  It definitely makes me happy that he hasn't forgotten his home.
The kids are good helpers.  We're  still working on our new routines, involving Glenn.  Glenn helps us help him 😊.  He begins the undressing, washes his face and brushes his teeth 😁.  It's important he helps as much as time allows.
Praises be God for helping Glenn make all these incredible steps.  Glenn works hard and desperately wants to feel better.  Ya know he a busybody!!!😂
Glenn's memory is still a little wonky (not as much as prior).   He has to be reminded of alot.  But, when his friends came see him, he remembered EVERYone of them, lol.  Guess cause they made him laugh so hard.  He is so silly, still cracks jokes.
Also, his vision is a little blurred.  I'm anxious to hear what the Doctors have to say about his vision.  He has an appointment scheduled to see an optometrist, soon.

As much as I want to skip to the ending of all this, I can’t. I have no choice but to wait it out, give and pray for more miraculous gifts. Thank you so much for the prayers
