Journal entry by Glena Fulmer McConnell

I had my birthday off so I figured I'd squeeze in my mammogram first thing in the morning.  I've had cysts before so I figured the new lump I was feeling was just another one.  No big deal.  Get it checked like a good patient and enjoy the rest of my birthday.
Well it wasn't just a cyst and I needed a 2 biopsies. And we need them now.  They had me come in the next day.
5 days after my 35th birthday, Monday, May 21 2018 I received the results for a breast biopsy I had the Friday prior.  I was told 5 word that change life forever "Your biopsies came back positive."  Life has been tornado since.  Test. Doctors. Waiting for results.  And today I started chemo.  Today WE start the fight!    First chemo surgery and then radiation.
