Journal entry by Lisa Rooney

60 days…since I held your hand, felt your skin, heard your voice, told you how much I love you, my heart was broken.  60 days seems like forever ago.  60 days seems like yesterday. So much has happened in 60 days.  Time hasn’t stopped but at times I wish it would.  I wish time could stop so I could stop the pain my heart feels, the emptiness in the hours of the days, and the quietness in the house.  And then my mind reminds me how pain free your days are now, of all the wonderful foods you can taste again, that you can laugh and have fun again.  Reminiscing in your room last night with Bronson and Reid brings us back to all the hours you spent in your bed and the heaviness our hearts feel in there.  We’ve cleaned up a lot in there but there still is so much to go through.  The memories come in waves while going through your room.  Just makes me laugh how much of a “collector” you are.  You didn’t have 1 pillow, you had 11 on your bed.  Really Nell?!?  No wonder it was such a pain to change the bedding.  I talk to you so much and know you in your own way, you talk with me.  I just miss you Pun’kin.  I just can’t help but to talk with Jeannelle.  She filled pretty much every corner of my being, all day, every day.  I don’t know how to adjust to not having her to care for.  It’s amazing how exhausted I am.  I try not to wallow because she doesn’t want any of us to, but there’s just times when the wave hits me hard.  I’ve finally found a therapist to work with.  Jim’s still fighting the vertigo.  Goes back for follow up in a couple weeks.  Jim did stumble the other week and injured his right pinky finger tendon.  It has recovered some but not fully.  Jason’s fighting his third sinus infection; hopefully we don’t need to see an ENT.  Jason is also fighting a concussion after being knocked out during a wrestling match last weekend.  Trying to get his brain healed up for post season.  He doesn’t do well when he’s not on the mat.  Josh, Luke & Katie are doing well.  Bronson & Reid go back to school on Sunday and Emily went back last weekend.  Bronson transferred to St. Francis in Fort Wayne and is recovering well from his shoulder surgery.  Everyone’s getting back to work and trying to stay away from the Vid. Life just keeps going and so do we, sometimes forward, sometimes back but we just keep going.  We’re working on the donations and Jeannelle’s Ronald McDonald House room.  So many beautiful notes and messages warm our hearts and let us know how much Jeannelle is loved.  Stay safe, stay healthy!  XO❤️
