Gina’s Story

Site created on July 30, 2019

On June 21, 2019, we were on a family vacation in California. It was a beautiful day in Santa Cruz, when I got the call we were expecting: pathologic confirmation of breast cancer. I had biopsies a couple days prior and knew the results would be back while we were traveling. A lot of good news with this bad news: very treatable, good prognosis. It has been a long summer of biopsies, genetic tests, imaging, doctor's visits and consultations. On August 19th, I will have a bilateral mastectomy.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Gina Gregovich

When your oncologist calls you after 9:00 on a Wednesday night, it can't be good news, right? WRONG. All of my tests are back and the word is: NO CHEMO!! I am so relieved.

I know I've said it before, but I will say it again, I am overwhelmed by the love and support from all of you. Sincere gratitude to friends and family near and far - you have all made this experience manageable for me.

This site has been a great way for me to connect with all of you, but I'm happy to say I won't be needing to update it anymore! I will keep it open for the next week, so please keep in touch with me directly. It has been great connecting and reconnecting with so many of you.

You can now focus your prayers on real problems - fires, hurricanes, RBG's pancreas.

Much love, from your cancer-free, flat-chested friend.
