Journal entry by Tony Rondinella —
Today would have been Gigi's 85th birthday. Although we were unable to celebrate her birthday with her today, my siblings and I gathered to reflect a little on her life while we worked together to make her final arrangements. The details can be found in her obituary accessible via this link: https://www.matthewsmortuary.com/obituary/marjorie-gigi-rondinella
The Covid-19 pandemic and ensuing quarantine has made this type of planning even more difficult than normal. There are social distancing restrictions in place at the funeral home and at the church that prevent a typical gathering for a showing and a funeral.
We know mom has many friends, relatives, and loved-ones that live around the country that might want to travel to attend the funeral to honor her and comfort her children and grandchildren. We appreciate that but we also understand the safety concerns around traveling and gathering socially at this time. We encourage those that must travel to take the appropriate amount of precaution per age and health concerns. We look forward to a better time and condition where we can safely and appropriately gather and embrace to celebrate Gigi's life and her transition to Heaven.
