Journal entry by Gretchen Bernal —
When I was driving to Beaumont yesterday I thought to myself, what is the upside to Daddy’s current situation. If he’s not in the ICU, that’s a good sign, right?
I told my mother-in-law vis text message:
Overall, today is a new day, which means new hope for another today.
We meet with the Neurologist this morning. Defines that Daddy might of had a “water shed stroke”, which means due to pneumonia lowering his blood pressure, there is a part of the brain that didn’t get blood hence the stroke.
Daddy was given a few commands by the neurologist this morning to see how his body would respond. Responses were attempts, slightly optimistic, but not easy tasks for him or not successfully executed.
Neurologist said he felt Daddy was more active today opposed to the day before.
We will continue to monitor Daddy the next few days.
May God continue to be with Him and our family. Thank you Lord for this great man.
