Doris,
How wonderful for an update from you as I’ve wondered and worried over you for the past year. In my heart I knew you’d be fine because you’re a strong independent woman, but you’ve been with Gerald since you were little bitty and now you are taking this new journey on your own. My heart aches for you at times thinking of you without Gerald but it sounds like you’re off on your own adventures and as I would have suspected, he goes everywhere with you. I know sometimes the holidays are the worst and I pray that they go by quickly even though we’re surrounded by family that loves us. I pray everyday you carry a small piece of happiness with all the new memories your creating with that incredible family you have! I envy the kind of love you and Gerald have and know with each new day he is watching you and is with you everywhere you go. You may not see him but I know he’s there. I’m so happy and grateful you took the time to write. What you have been able to pen and capture in words is a tribute of a very special wife and the love she continues to have for her beloved best friend, husband Gerald Cain. Best wishes this holiday I’ll be thinking of you!
Love you
Gail

You have done amazingly well over this past year. It's difficult not having our phone conversations and talking about crazy dreams of how we will spend retirement. I missed he and Steve this fall as I watched our beloved Buckeyes have an amazing season. I think they were both watching from afar... They were both very special people. Each brought so much to my life. I truly miss them.

It's so hard not seeing "Gerald and Doris"... Now you are breaking out on your own path. But I firmly believe that he with you with every step you take telling you... As Gerald would say, "Git after it girl"... There are a lot of us cheering you on from the sidelines. Love you always.

Happy Holidays Doris!
Whenever/Wherever we are in life, those we love are right by our sides. There will never be a day you don't think of Gerald. Sometimes giving you a big belly laugh -- or a bucket full of tears. It's been 29 yrs since my Dad passed & I think of him every day and I love that I do! Sending you much love and happiness as you enter another new year of adventure. Would love it if we could keep in touch! Big hugs, Jan xox

You're a rock and safe place for all of us. Crying is to be expected, and we all do it at our own pace (...and coming from the girl who lost it when she went into Gerald's office not so long ago, I know of what I speak!) You make my life so special. Thank you. Bob and I send you our love.
