Journal entry by Katie Kachidurian —
This mode of communication is available by invitation only and I think I have have all our closest friends and family on the list. George is a private person and I want to respect what I think would be his wish regarding who knows what about his health condition. I hope at this point I have everybody’s email typed in correctly, this is going to be how I update all of you from here on out, if you would like to text me or call me I’ll answer you as quickly as I can.
George had a great night last night he was stable all night long and as of this morning his blood gases and all his blood work was very positive although he is still getting blood products off and on. His kidney function has returned so did not need to go on dialysis and his liver enzymes are much better today. He seems to be back to where he was when I left Wednesday night and that’s good.
Throughout the night tonight the plan is to very, very slowly reduce his dependence on the respirator and on the propofol which is keeping him in the deepest sedation. It will be a slow process and they will not try to extubate him from the ventilator until he’s ready, hopefully that will be Sunday morning. As he comes out of the coma they will be able to better assess his neurological function to see if he has had a stroke or has any brain damage. Thank you all for your prayers and you overwhelming support of me ♥️
