Journal entry by Gerald Cachia —
Hi all. It's been quite some time since my last official update and as most of you know George has been doing great! Today, George took another big step in his journey to full recovery by undergoing a Cyberknife procedure targeted at the remainder of his tumor. He checked in at 2pm at the Cyberknife Center and had a telehealth visit with his neurosurgeon who explained what to expect during and after the procedure. George was in good spirits and was ready to get on with it. He was outfitted with a special mask that was used to guide a giant robotic machine to exactly where the tumor resides. The robotic machine hits the tumor from all angles following a precise pre-determined path. The procedure took about 45 minutes and I talked with George right after it and he felt great and was on his way home!! Side effects to the procedure could include headaches and fatigue but that remains to be seen. Next step is he will meet with his neurosurgeon to review the results of the Cyperknife procedure. Things are looking up but please keep George and Suzanne in your prayers and on behalf of the Bessler Family thanks to all who have walked side by side with them during this most difficult journey.
