George’s Story

Site created on March 23, 2018

I have lung cancer, COPD and Emphysema.  In October, I was diagnosed with Lung Cancer, and we tried radiation for 6 weeks.  That worked on the primary site, but the cancer has traveled.  Currently undergoing extra efforts to get cancer under control.

Journal entry by Becky Culp

Today’s chemo was short – Gemcitabine, only.  Sharon and Becky were there.  My daughter Becky’s friend, Lynne, works at Lilly and that’s who makes this drug, Gemcitabine.  Lynne says they call this drug “Gentle citabine” because it’s so well tolerated!  So far, she’s right! I'll be happy with this drug if it helps control or reduce my cancer!

I have a very positive attitude and hopefully things are on the right path.  Sharon is behind me 100%.  Life is great!

I feel good that I was able to attend the ZPC Men’s Group a week ago for the 2nd week in a row. Really appreciate the support from those guys, and our neighbors Harry and Carol Milli!

Hoping to get back to our everyday routine soon!  I’m feeling good enough that I’m going to ask Sharon to take me out to the woods edge to see the spring deer migration with binoculars!  There are a lot of massive deer here in Indiana. 200lbs or more!

Next week I will likely get the results of genetic tests directing more treatment, and I will have another CT Scan on 4/30.

Hopefully people who are reading this now are sharing prayers with us.  We greatly appreciate your thoughts and prayers!
