So sorry for your loss but we all know where Gary is today...in the arms of Jesus. Our hope is in the Resurrection and we have the comfort of the Holy Spirit. I know what a hard time you're going through but I rejoice with you that the whole family was with him. God's grace and mercy is so amazing. His timing is so perfect. Please be assured of my love and prayers. I Thess 4:13-18

Hey Marlis,
I read your entry today and felt a strong impulse to get in the Honda to join you during this great transition in your lives. The four of us (Gary, you, Jeff and I) knew each other best at the start of our relationships---another time of great life changes: new careers, new love, new places, new homes. Intellectually, I realize so much has happened in the ensuing years but I still mostly think of Gary as that guy from those times.

I remember my wedding toast to the two of you—I tried to convey the quality and compassion you both shared --not only with each other but out to the whole community. You guys continued to do the same through out your life--No matter how tough the struggle (or how great the joy).

The support and strength you demonstrated in caring for Gary through this journey—while still caring for your whole family--- is truly remarkable. I am glad that you have people around you now who have been with you in the trenches these recent years—a community of love and support. A “flash from the past” is almost an imposition. Perhaps in some future time and place---we can toast old times and catch up a bit. Meanwhile, I hope you have some time and space with your family and loved ones to reflect and breath. Jeff and I offer our love and prayers, Maggie Edelstein

Dear Marlis and family... Bill and I send our sincere condolences to you. Gary was so special. He touched so many of us with his kindness, faith, and wisdom and he will remain in our hearts forever. The Caring Bridge - your pictures and Gary's journal entries have captured a life well lived and a battle with cancer that was so spiritual and authentic. I especially liked the last photos. Peace be with you all at this time, with love, Linda.

Dear beautiful and precious Walter family. There are hardly any words... My heart is so happy for Gary but so broken for all of you. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of this journey with you. You will continue to be in my prayers. Many blessings to you my dear family in the Lord. I'm praying that during this time each of you will find your healing, peace and comfort in our Father's presence. In that place you will also be nearest to Gary as that is where he is as well. Much love to each of you!!

Rob and I send our deepest sympathies to you all. I truly can't think of another man who exemplified so much thought on and trust in the faithful Love and Omnipotence of our Lord. What precious last days he had with all of you surrounding and caring for him. May Grace and Peace abundantly fill your hurting hearts.
