Thanks for putting a link to see Gary’s celebration of life since Covid prevented Judy and I from attending in person. What an amazing finish to a wonderful life. You are truly a blessed family. To God be ALL the Glory!

What a beautiful memorial service for Gary!!! You all made this service very heartwarming. You all are already carrying on the legacy which Gary left to you. Thank you for the Caring Bridge updates. It made us feel a part of your journey and helped us know how to pray for you. We are continuing to hold you up in prayer before the throne.

Thank you for providing your Caring Bridge posts so we could pray for all of you during the past five months. Gary was so blessed by how you made every moment count to make your final memories together, and you all were equally blessed by Gary. Although at times I'm sure it was very difficult, your unfailing trust and faith in God was very evident. Gary didn't miss a beat in honoring God above all else through every aspect of his life's journey. Truly inspiring. I'll continue to lift your family up in prayer in the coming days and months.

Chris and I have had you all in our thoughts. We are so sorry for your loss. What I remember most is his smile. Whether running into him at HyVee or as one of Kers’ new college friends, when he smiled, you could feel the warmth. We love your family and will continue to hold you all in our hearts. Love and hugs, Chris and Charity

Dear Betty and family, thank you so much for giving us the link to Gary's service. How kind of you! Jeff and I SO much wanted to be there in person. Our hearts are with you all. May you find great comfort in each element of today's celebration of Gary. The service was absolutely beautiful, so honoring to Gary and so honoring to the Lord. The stories each person told were such precious pictures of how much Gary loved each of you, and how you loved him, and how much he loved Jesus, and knew Jesus loved him. The music was beautiful, so worshipful. Jay's thoughts of hope in Jesus were so beautifully stated. One thing that touched me especially, was how (I assume) your grandson lovingly stayed by your side, Betty. You are so loved, and no doubt each of you in the family are going to continue to be a wonderful support to each other. You are great role models of loving well. If is so comforting to know you will see him again (and then forever), that this is not good-bye, but rather, "I'll see you later." We will be praying for you and will look forward to connecting with you when we return home. Much love, Jeff and Carol Akey
