Hello All!
I've been thinking of all of you, and so appreciate your love for our Dad and your support for our family. Thank you also for your kind words and sympathy cards - they've meant a lot. And finally, thank you for your understanding if I've not yet been able to respond individually yet - the California move has been great, and also overwhelming at times, especially with everything with my Dad, on top of house projects, figuring out where to buy x and do y, jumping back into opera, etc. I can't wait to see you at my Dad's Celebration of Life where we can catch up and celebrate a remarkable, well-lived life.
The celebration of life for our Dad will be in Minneapolis on May 26th, the Thursday before Memorial Day, at the Beach Club (f/k/a Calhoun Beach Club) from 4-7pm. It will be on an outside balcony with drinks and appetizers and a microphone for stories - and there's an indoor area should the weather not cooperate. If anyone has a picture or two they'd like to have included in a slideshow, we would love to see them! Please send them either to me (emellum@yahoo.com) or to my favorite sister (wwelsh@mellumandwelsh.com). In keeping with our Dad's wishes for any event he would attend under such circumstances, we are limiting attendance to those who are vaccinated. He was a huge advocate for the vaccine realizing people are much less likely to get covid if everyone is vaccinated, and we want to honor him in this way. Please also bring a mask, as it may be required in some of the indoor spaces. We look forward to seeing you there!
We'll be sending out an evite to this event very soon, but for now, please save the date, and do let one of us know if you haven't received an evite by the end of the weekend. Happy Easter, and much love to each and every one of you!
Warmly,
Eric
