Journal entry by Gail Lord

Hello Everyone,

Today is Woody's birthday and I have been receiving messages of love and support.  It made me realize that I haven't written anything in a long time.  This past winter has been very difficult.  One forgets all the little details that their partner manages without speaking a word or making a fuss.  When that loved one is gone, suddenly unexpected things pop up over due or needing maintenance etc. and a bunch of scrambling ensues to catch up and the TO DO list must be updated.  There remain bins of Woody's things that still need to be gone through and it seems never ending.  My brother Dean, is still very ill and decided to enter a hospice facility.  He and Woody were very close.  While Woody was so very ill, so was my brother and it made the stress and the grief that much more intense.

On the bright side, spring came early and has been absolutely stunning.  Today is a beautiful, bright and sunny day and I know Woody would have enjoyed looking out of his office window and seeing all the roses in full bloom.  Later today, I will visit his grave and say some prayers.  We both loved flowers in the house so I will gather some up to create a bouquet in his honor.  It will be a small reminder of him.

As I think of Woody, I also think of all of you loyal friends who loved him, too.  Thank you for continuing to connect with me via this platform.  I hope all of you have a wonderful day that is filled with love and joy.

Until next time,

Love,

Gail
