Journal entry by Farrah Trottier

Today is the day we’ve been waiting for. Gabe is coming home. Everything is ready at home. We have been bringing him home the last 2 weekends just to trial it. Last weekend he wanted to go back to the nursing home at midnight on Saturday,  he didn’t like his bed. He thought it made his neck hurt. But we convinced him that his neck most likely hurt because he had a hair cut and so the head support was removed for about an hour. He most likely used his neck muscle more then he was used to. We have LRC staff starting Monday. I will be at home with him for 6 weeks. Hopefully we establish a routine and this is our new normal. I may have to private pay an additional staff member once I return to work. LRC may be able to send a second person to assist with transfers. We shall see.
