Franke’s Story

Site created on March 20, 2018

Welcome to Franke Bell's CaringBridge website.  Because she knows people worldwide, we are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place.   We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement, your prayers will lift her up.  Also, for the time being, we are requesting No Visitors.  Franke is very social and wants to talk instead of resting and getting better!
At this time there are no fundraisers (go fund me or otherwise), we don't want friends being misled.  However, if you are inclined, please make a donation to your favorite non profit in Franke's name or support Caring Bridge.

Last Friday morning, March 16, 2018 Franke was transported to the hospital because of a fall.  As some know, she had polio as a child and she suffers from post polio which has left her legs in a weakened state.  At this point, all her tests and scans have come back "normal"!  But they are monitoring her and determining the best path forward.  Rehab is most likely in her future.

Following link is a trailer made to document Franke.  She is an Amazing woman who loves God with her whole heart and has spent her life coaching, loving, guiding, nurturing those around her.  https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=z__JqPdXZ2w

Thank you for visiting Franke's page and caring about her.

Thank you to David Walker for organizing Franke's birthday party.  Many thanks to all who took the time to come.  Her niece Lori visited and got to see Franke hold court.  We sat there and enjoyed a good laugh as we watched her loving the attention. She enjoyed every minute. Many of the Trinity Ridge staff stopped by to share best wishes and remarked on how much fun it was to see her enjoying her former swimmers.

Please feel free to post any pictures you may may have taken during the party.  We will all enjoy seeing them.

Thanks to all of you sending cards too.  When I got there yesterday, the mail had just come. Her sitter Rodena was reading them to her.  She really enjoyed getting them, and Franke, being Franke, stopped before moving on to the next card to share a story about the sender.

i didn't count the guests that came today, but we had a room full with everyone reminiscing of the good old days.  The swimmers present represented 4 decades!  Some swam in the late 50's on the first team, some from the 60's, some in the 70's, and one that bridged into the 80's. She got to be the youngster of the crew.

Easter is coming!  Have a blessed holiday and come visit if you can!
