A quick update that Dad is home at Maple Ridge! He continues to be strong and amazing. His journey home today was almost delayed until tomorrow because the Mukilteo-Clinton ferries were not running while transition work was in progress for the grand opening of the new dock on the Mukilteo side. However, he is doing so well that his
doctors cleared him for the 3 hour drive around the island and only required that we stop at least once for him to get out and walk a bit to stretch his legs and move circulation. This was a perfect excuse to stop at Amanda’s and Christian’s new house which is along the way. He had not yet seen their new place due to the pandemic. After a nice look and walk around the driveway we made our way down the island to Maple Ridge were he was met by staff and friends who were VERY happy to welcome him back. There was even a fresh made rueben sandwich ready for him to enjoy for dinner.
I think he might be Superman. What do you think? Next time they let me into Maple Ridge (post pandemic - I’m sure) I’m going to snoop around his closet for a blue costume with red trunks, boots and a cape!
