You are an inspiration to all who follow you. I remember being enchanted by your spunk, energy, humour, and devotion when I first met you many years ago in NC. When our mutual friend Fr. P. told me about your situation, prayers launched for the Holy Spirit to accompany you and fill you with humble confidence. I know you will be where God intended after this long journey. Obviously we all hope it will be among us.

As I was praying that the Holy Spirit inspired decisions made at Duke would
put an end to your cancer once and for all ( without causing you to suffer with
the side effects ) I was also thinking how blessed you are as a Priest to be able
to receive the Precious Body and Blood of Our Lord in your personal Mass

Dear Fr. Tighe, Yesterday in the adoration chapel I opened my prayerbook to this very comforting message from Our Lady of Guadalupe. Do not fear this sickness, nor any other sickness. Am I not here, who am your Mother? Are you not under my shadow and protection? Am I not the source of your joy? Are you not in the hollow of my mantle, in the crossing of my arms?

Hi Father Phil, I think of you often and continue to keep you in my prayers. Life is a journey and our Heavenly Father always shows us the way. I know you and Dutch bring each other much joy and companionship. This current health situation is unsettling to say the least but w/ our faith and actions we will get through it.
