Journal entry by Dianthe Livanos

Dear Friends, as your love continues to pour in for our family during this time, I want to thank each and every one of you!  My heart would wish to thank you individually and personally, but due to the magnitude of your collective care I think it will be an impossible task!  So I beg your forgiveness for this group note, and please be assured how deeply my family and I appreciate the very many ways you have shown us how much you care.  It brings tears to my eyes as I remember his (prophetic) words "If you love me, you'll really love my wife."  He meant it in context of, and to deflect, the personal compliments he would receive, but today it sounds more like an admonition to care for his family, which you have done so lovingly.  Thank you again, from all of us.

Monday August 9th is Fr. George's 40 Day Memorial, and because it is a work-day we will be offering the prayers the evening before.  On Sunday August 8th at 6:00pm there will be a graveside memorial service offered at St George Antiochian Orthodox Church/Cemetery, 3230 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, PA  (where Father is buried) followed by lenten refreshments in the St George Social Hall. In the event of inclement weather, the memorial will take place in the church.  All are welcome to pray with us for his soul as it takes it's leave to it's final resting place.  May his memory be ever blessed.

In closing, if I could ask one more thing.  I have been reflecting as I read your beautiful cards and letters on how many wonderful stories there are of how Fr. G has touched your lives.  I was blessed to live and work along side him, and witnessed much, but it occurred to me that my children and grandchildren would benefit greatly by reading these and getting to know Father in a more personal way.  If you have stories or photographs that you would like to share, I would like to put them into a memorial notebook for the next generation to know and love him also.

Please send your stories and digital photos to:  frgeorgelivanos@gmail.com  with the subject heading MEMORIES
